His parents said Trayvon was returning from the store with skittles for his little stepbrother when he was approached by the community watch representative. They said George Zimmerman called 911 and said he spotted someone suspicious. Before police arrived, Zimmerman shot the 17-year-old to death with a 9mm gun and claimed self-defense.
“I stand before you today asking for justice for my son,” cried Sabrina Fulton, Trayvon’s mom. “I’m a normal mother and I just want justice for my son. I love my son dearly. My heart is broken.”
SANFORD, Fla. -- At a hastily called press conference Thursday afternoon, Sanford City Manager Norton Bonaparte Jr. announced that beleaguered police Chief Bill Lee Jr. is stepping down temporarily amid growing anger over his handling of the investigation into the killing of Trayvon Martin. Bonaparte told reporters that he hoped the move would "restore calm to the city of Sanford" and help speed the case through the legal process. He said that the city has not yet appointed an interim chief.
Trayvon Martin want to win the case within the court of law so meaningful change can come about in the process. George Zimmerman's controversial website raised $200,000 in donations for defence fund in Trayvon case, his lawyer reveals
George Zimmerman was bonded out of jail on Friday. Zimmerman was driven away from the Seminole County Jail in a silver SUV after his $1 million bond was posted.
